Newt Gingrich doesn’t have the ‘eye of the tiger’

As much as Newt Gingrich’s campaign may feel like the red corner of a heavyweight boxing match, it certainly doesn’t sound like one - at least not to Frank Sullivan, guitarist for the 1980s rock group Survivor.
Sullivan filed a federal lawsuit Monday against Gingrich for the candidate’s use of Survivor’s hit song, “Eye of the Tiger,” at campaign events, the Chicago Tribune reported. The double platinum single became famous for its use during Rocky Balboa’s training montages in Rocky III.
The GOP presidential hopeful allegedly used the song without authorization, according to Rolling Stone. Sullivan is seeking an injunction forcing Gingrich to stop playing it at public events.
The legal action came on the eve of the Florida primary, in which analysts give Mitt Romney a 97 percent chance of victory.
If the analysts are correct, it appears Gingrich will have to do more to rise up to the challenge of his rival - just perhaps without his favorite entrance music.
