Senate panel confirms Jack Lew’s treasury secretary nomination

WASHINGTON — The Senate Finance Committee voted 19-5 Tuesday to approve President Barack Obama’s choice of Jack Lew today to be the next Treasury Secretary.
Lew’s nomination will move to the full Senate for a final confirmation vote which could come as soon as Wednesday, said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
